Welcome to EquiShare! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the EquiShare mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using EquiShare, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using EquiShare, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

Sending an email notification
Updating the "Last Updated" date above
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use EquiShare. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2.2 Account Requirements
To use certain features, you must:

Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3. Account Registration and Security
3.1 Account Creation
When you create an account, you agree to:

Maintain and promptly update your account information
Keep your password secure and confidential
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
All activities that occur under your account
Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
Any losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account
4. Use of the Service
4.1 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
4.2 Permitted Uses
You may use EquiShare to:
Track and split expenses with other users
Create and manage groups for expense sharing
Calculate and settle balances with other users
Invite contacts to join the app
Export your expense data
4.3 Prohibited Uses
You may not:
Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
Violate the rights of others, including intellectual property rights
Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Impersonate another person or entity
Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written consent
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service ("User Content"), including:
Expense descriptions and amounts
Group names and descriptions
Profile information and photos
Comments and notes
5.2 Content License
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
5.3 Content Restrictions
You agree that your User Content will not:
Contain false, misleading, or inaccurate information
Violate any laws or regulations
Infringe upon intellectual property rights
Contain offensive, abusive, or inappropriate material
Include personal information of others without consent
6. Group Expenses and Settlements
6.1 Expense Accuracy
You are responsible for:
Ensuring the accuracy of expenses you create
Verifying expenses created by others in your groups
Resolving disputes with other group members
Maintaining accurate records of settlements
6.2 Settlements
EquiShare facilitates expense tracking and balance calculations but does NOT:
Process actual payments between users
Guarantee that users will pay their balances
Act as a mediator in disputes
Provide legal or financial advice
7. Subscriptions and Payments
7.1 Subscription Plans
EquiShare offers both free and premium subscription plans.
You will be charged at the start of each billing period
Charges are non-refundable except as required by law
You are responsible for all applicable taxes
7.7 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
Android: Google Play Store → Subscriptions
In-App: Settings → Subscription → Manage
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until then.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
8.1 Our Rights
The Service and all content, features, and functionality are owned by EquiShare and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 Trademarks
"EquiShare" and related logos are trademarks of EquiShare. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to such collection and use.
Data Export and Deletion
Export Data: Settings → Export Data
Delete Account: Settings → Delete Account (all personal data permanently deleted within 30 days)
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not guarantee that:
The Service will be available at all times
The Service will be error-free
Defects will be corrected
The Service will meet your requirements
No Financial Advice
EquiShare does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. The Service is for expense tracking purposes only.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EQUISHARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
Cost of substitute services
Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, OR $100 USD, whichever is greater.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, please contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
12.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.3 Jurisdiction
You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Turkey for resolution of any disputes.
